June, 2008

At the age of 17, Judgement ISF, sire of Heads Up Farm's 2008 colt, Devonnis HUF and a half brother to Heads Up Farm's Dyami HUF (Consul), continues to amaze. In five competitions at Spruce Meadows in June 2008, Judgement ISF had two first places, one second and one third, earning nearly $128,000, including his third consecutive win in the prestigious Nexen Cup Derby (formerly the Shell Cup Derby).

May, 2008

Two outstanding Jumper foals arrived in April - a colt by Consul out of Dark Yester xx arrived on April 18 and another colt by Judgement ISF out of Klassik Gold (Trak) was born on April 23. Both foals will be registered KWPN-NA and offered for sale.

In other news, Gery Slot from the Netherlands sent me a message letting me know that earlier this month, Andre Thieme, riding Nacorde again won the Hamburg Derby, the toughest Derby in Europe. Congratulations Andre and Thanks to Gery for keeping me up-to-date on the accomplishments of outstanding offspring from the breeding family 712 Ida line. March, 2008

Two items this month - first I would like to thank Gery Slot from the Netherlands for providing me with information on the breeding family 712 Ida line (Tobias' mare line) which is behind Aledante. I will post the specifics on Aledante's page. Gery is a breeder from the Netherlands. Gery's email is gmhslot@planet.nl.

Second item this month is that foal watch is beginning in earnest now - Klassik Gold, in foal to Judgement ISF, is due on April 8 and Dark Yester, in foal to Consul, is due on April 14. Both mares are doing well and I am really excited about the pending birth of these two foals. January, 2008

While we have enjoyed the horses, we realize that this is an endeavor for younger people. As we prepare for retirement (both from the horses and "real" jobs), we are offering all horses for sale. Equipment, tack and the farm will also be offered for sale upon dispersal of the horses.

November, 2007

Offspring of Judgement, Saluut II and Magnum Share Top Honors at 2007 IJF Eastern Regional

Four four-year-olds, including three young stallions shared top honors at the International Jumper Futurity Eastern Regional at the Duke Charity Horse Show on November 8, 2007 including Judgement Call, a tobiano from the first crop by Judgement, earning his award in the Best Performance and a Reserve in Best Type. Our Trakehner mare, Klassik Gold is in foal to Judgement for April 2008.

September, 2007

On September 21, Calligraphy HUF (Sir Sinclair o/o First Testamony) earned a 1st Premium at the Dutch Warmblood Keuring at Iron Spring Farm. Our other 2007 foal, Capello HUF (UB40 o/o Elektra), did not attend the Keuring.

July, 2007

On July 13, Aledante, handled by Bruce Griffin, was the second place 2 y.o. filly at Dressage at Lexington, Lexington, Va.

June 2007:

The sires of Heads Up Farm's foals, (and future foals) continue to excel.

UB40, sire of our 2007 colt, Capello HUF has qualified for the FEI 6 Year Old Young Horse Breeding Championships in Verden Germany, August 2007 with 4 First Place wins including the latest at the Capital Dressage Classic with a score of 7.81%. Watch Me, a 4 y.o. mare by Sir Sinclair, sire of our 2007 colt, Calligraphy HUF, has had an amazing start to 2007 with 7 1st place and 2 2nd place performances through June 3, 2007. April 2007:

We are proud to announce two Dutch Warmblood colts born in April, 2007. Capello HUF (UB40 o/o Elektra) arrived on April 3rd. He is a chestnut colt with a star and two socks. He is an outstanding Dressage prospect. Calligraphy HUF (Sir Sinclair o/o First Testamony xx) was born on April 19th. He is a bay and should excel at any discipline.
