Calligraphy HUF

2007 KWPN-NA First Premium Dressage Foal

Calligrahpy is a bay gelding born April 19, 2007.

Sir Sinclair is a very elegant and modern type stallion with a super temperament. Sir Sinclair received excellent scores at the 70 day test in Ermelo in 2002 - Walk: 8, trot: 9, canter: 8 and suitability as a dressage horse: 8.5. He was ranked 1st for dressage and 9th overall.

Sir Sinclair was ranked 13th on the USEF Dressage Breed list of Leading Sires for 2006.

SIR SINCLAIR FOAL REPORT for Offspring of 2003.

Sir Sinclair showed a uniform group of sufficiently developed foals with refinement, that are riding type and stand in sufficient to more than sufficient rectangular model.

The head is well formed and very expressive. The poll is more than sufficient in length. The neck is more than sufficient to good in length and has more than sufficient shape and position. The wither is more than sufficient in development and length. The shoulder has more than sufficient length and position. The back is shaped well. The loins are strongly connected. The croup is more than sufficient to good in length, shape and muscling. The hamstring is nice and long. The foreleg is generally long with a long pastern and a little tied in. The stance of the pastern varies and the stance of the foreleg is toed out. The hindleg is a little sickle hocked. The base is light and shows much quality.

The walk is pure and more than sufficient in scope and suppleness. The trot is light with good use of the hindleg with more than sufficient scope. The foals show more than sufficient to much self carriage and the trot has much tact. The suppleness ranges from more than sufficient to good. The canter has sufficient scope and more than sufficient impulsion. The foals don't jump easily into the canter and should have more balance

Lord Sinclair won the 100 day Stallion Performance Test in 1999 at Neustadt / Dosse with a score of 147,16 in dressage. Lord Sinclair scored a perfect 10.0 in character, ability to work, rideability (twice), and trot. He also won the Bundeschampionate for 3-year old and 4-year old in Germany. Lord Sinclair is a leading sire of Hunters and Dressage Horses.

Lord Sinclair's dam, Cleopatra, is by Capitol - Raueck I. She was group winner at the state premium broodmare awards, and top mare at the broodmare performance text in Munich-Riem.

Lanciano is a leading sire of Hunter, Jumper, Event and Dressage horses. Lanciano (by Landgraf - Pilot) unites in his pedigree two of the most celebrated performance sires ever: the legendary stallions Landgraf I and Pilot, both of whom are considered to be among the best breeding sires of all times. Lanciano did his father and maternal grandfather proud from the very start: his enormous presence, beautiful head, and stallion performance test's top rideability mark of 140,25 made him into one of the most coveted breeding stallions at the time, passing on an ideal combination of the best possible bloodlines to his offspring.

Flemmingh has been ranked in the top 4 on the USDF Leading Sire of Dressage horse since 2004 including the number 1 sire of Dressage horses in 2006. Additionally, Flemmingh has been ranked as a leading sire of Dressage Breed, Hunter Breed, Hunters and Jumpers.

Flemmingh is an internationally appreciated stallion, siring many approved sons and selection champions, and a great number of successful sport horses. Flemmingh is considered by many to be the greatest producer of dressage horses in the world.

Flemmingh sires beautiful, big, long-lined horses with three perfect gaits, as demonstrated by the great number of Ster and Keur mares, champion foals and dressage performance horses that he has produced.

The first international performances of his offspring have taken place and have proved to be world class. His son Lingh has already won at Intermediaire I, Prix St. George and Grand Prix, and his son Krack C has also won several Grand Prix and was the best KWPN Dressage horse during the World Championship in Jerez.

Flemmingh's offspring have also been very successful in the Pavo Cup, for example Krack C became Dutch Champion at 4 and 5 years old, and finalists included his sons Lingh, Mooiman and Kamille.

Flemmingh's foals are in great demand by dressage riders and trainers alike because they are very eager learners, like to work, and move very easily and well.

Lacapo was a “medium sized stallion with good expression and beautiful neck carriage. His produce were of medium frame with beautiful faces and lots of appeal. Very good movers.”

Landgraf I is considered by warmblood breeders across the globe to be one of, if not THE, Stallion of the Century. Of all the Ladykiller sons, Landgraf I was able to assert himself the best. At this time, he is the most successful sire of show jumpers the world has seen. He has produced 130 approved stallion sons, who are active in every breed association in Germany and many of Europe and the US' breeding associations.

Capitol I is one of the most important producers of top Holsteiner Show Jumping Horses. At the Olympic Games in Sydney alone, four of his off-spring participated. Only the off-spring of Landgraf I, Pilot, Polydor, Furioso II, Grannus and Lord have won more prize money. "Capitol has been the best advertisement for Holstein. He is esteemed for his exceptional jumping traits, enormous ability and his uncomplicated willingness to perform – characteristics that he unconditionally passes on to his children"

The probably most convincing example of Capitol's hereditary power was in the year 2000 at the CHIO in Aachen: Cento, under Otto Becker, won the Grand Prix in a breath-taking jump-off, closely followed by a half-brother on his sire's side, Carthago, who had to be satisfied with second place. It is pretty unique in such a difficult test to find the first two best horses by the same sire and both of them also approved sons. Only a short time later, Cento became a member of the gold winning team at the Olympics in Sydney. Two years later, Cento, also a gray stallion, made the headlines again by winning the World Cup finals in Leipzig after sensational rounds.

Another stallion called Champione, born in 1988, is one of five Capitol off-spring that have taken part in Olympic Games.

Carneval, was a seal brown stallion by the Selle Francais import Cor de la Bryere, and out of the mare Assa (foaled 1964) by “the most important of all sires,” and the best of the Achill line of stallions, Farnese. In his 100-day test he received an 89 for dressage and 123 for jumping with an overall score of 106. The most dominant trait of Carneval's offspring is their enormous jumping ability.

First Testamony was one of only two Thoroughbred mares to present a First Premium Dressage foal at the 2007 KWPN-NA Keurings.

Calligraphy's dam sire line, Reputed Testamony through Traffic Judge, has produced Primitive Rising, 1999 winner of the Horse and Hound Cup for the leading sire of event horses in England; Abracadabra, 1999 Junior Jumper of the Year; and Over the Limit, 1999 winner of the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event and second in the Blenheim, England Three Day Event. Reputed Testamony is also the sire of The Patriot who was 2005 Zone 3 A/A Hunter Champion and won the 2007 WIHS A/A Championship.

Calligraphy's great grandsire, Forli, is also the grandsire of Prince Thatch xx, the first modern ‘dressage specialist’ Thoroughbred sire of the Hanoverian studbook.

Calligraphy also descends from the Round Table line which appears in the pedigree of several top Hunter/Jumper and Event horses.

Double Jay, on Taylor's dam side is the great grand sire of Gem Twist who earned two individual silver medals in show jumping at the Olympic games.  Gem Twist was retired from competition in 1997 after winning 40 major events, accumulating more than $800,000 in prize money, and is the only superstar to win the American Grandprix Association's horse of the year award three times. Gem Twist is also the only jumper to claim the A.G.A.'s championship for three different riders.

The Val De Loir/Vieux Manoir connection has produced several top sport horses including Zuidhorn, a top 20 in World Rankings for both Dressage and Show Jumping Sires, Le Val Blanc xx, Valblank, Woldstreek, Zaïre as well as Ulissa, dam of Olympic Cocktail and Falco.
